Your Will Be Done

Updated: Mar 9, 2020

During my prayer time this morning, I asked God "what do you want me to make a post about today?" And then he lead me to a devotion that said this:

“God will only allow so much rebellion to take place before he tells a person, “your will be done.” Although God is infinitely patient, he doesn’t force anyone to obey him. Do you want his will or your will to be done?”

Pretty straight forward, so that’s what I am writing about today!

Here we go:

“Your will be done.”

Jesus prayed this before His death on the cross. He didn’t want to suffer the pain, but yet, the Father knew what was best for all of us. Jesus’ death brought us freedom and deliverance. When we accept Christ, we are no longer slaves to our sin. We are set free for freedom, not to continue walking in our old ways. However, the decision is still ours.

God is patient, when we repent, He is always faithful and just to forgive us. But He doesn’t force anyone to obey Him. It is a choice that we get to make everyday. Either we say to God “let your will be done” our God is going to say that to us.

What are you going to choose? To live in freedom, and do the things God is calling you to do? Or to live in bondage and follow the things of this world? God’s plans for you are good. Psalms 128:1-2, says “How Joyful are those who fear the Lord - all who follow His ways!

You will enjoy the fruits of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be!”

Like my devotion asked, “Do you want your will or His will to be done?” It is up to you to decide! As for me, I say to God “not my will but yours Lord, let it be done!”
